Donation Criteria & Guidelines
FULLSTEPUP relies on the generosity of individuals, businesses, and community partners to provide instruments and music opportunities to students in need. The following criteria ensure that all donations directly support our mission and are used effectively.
Accepted Donations
Monetary Contributions
We accept financial donations of any amount to support:
- Instrument purchases and repairs
- Program operations and expansion
- Educational materials and instruction
- Community events and student showcases
Instrument Donations
We accept new or gently used instruments, including:
- Guitars (acoustic, electric, bass)
- Drum kits and percussion equipment
- Keyboards and digital pianos
- Band and orchestra instruments (case-by-case)
Accessories & Equipment
- Amplifiers
- Cables, straps, tuners
- Drumsticks, picks, and maintenance kits
- Cases and protective gear
- Sound equipment
Condition Requirements
To ensure student success and safety:
- Instruments must be in playable condition or require only minor repairs
- All essential parts must be included (strings, keys, hardware, etc.)
- Items with significant damage may be declined unless repairable within program capacity
Donation Evaluation Process
- All donated items are reviewed upon receipt
- FULLSTEPUP reserves the right to:
- Accept or decline donations based on condition and need
- Repair, refurbish, or repurpose donated items
- Distribute items according to program priorities
Priority Use of Donations
Donations are allocated to:
- Students with demonstrated financial need
- First-time participants without instrument access
- Program expansion to reach more communities
Tax & Acknowledgment
- FULLSTEPUP will provide a donation acknowledgment receipt upon request
- Donors are responsible for determining the value of non-cash donations for tax purposes
- Nonprofit 503c status pending
Restricted vs. Unrestricted Donations
- Unrestricted donations allow FULLSTEPUP to allocate funds where they are most needed
- Restricted donations (designated for a specific purpose) will be honored whenever possible
Corporate & Community Partnerships
FULLSTEPUP welcomes partnerships with:
